The North Face 40L Terra Bag on a 6 Month Trip

Here are the bags I used and how I packed a lot for summer and winter in 6 months. I’ll try to break it down to what’s practicable so you don’t find yourself at a post office in Ayutthaya trying to explain why your package needs to go to South Africa when you are American… (And hope it gets there!)

Completely retooled for Spring 2014, this women-specific technical pack has a user-friendly design that’s slimmer and lighter for managing 40-liter loads comfortably during multi-day backcountry excursions. The refined OPTIFIT™ harness system offers better load control and dials in the fit between the pack and your body, without sacrificing ventilation. A variety of well-placed pockets improve access to trail essentials when you’re on the move.
Vertical channel provides improved ventilation
Padded shoulder harness is sleek and anatomical

Improved zippered sleeping bag compartment access
