Neil and I awoke to a beautiful summer day, so we rushed to sea point for a cycle to Camps Bay. It was truely a beautiful day and all of Cape Town took notice. The streets and sidewalks were lined with tourists and locals alike.
Racing to Upcycle Bikes, three friends and I rented the last bikes of the day. Luck was on our side; our bicycles were comfortable and made for a great cruise.
We stopped at Maidens cove for the perfect photo opportunity. Neil and I took out our Nikon cameras and caught the moment. The air was salty and the rocks were warm from a glimps of summer.
We continued cycling downwards towards the beach for a rewarding smoothie. Camps Bay beach was busy but fun. After our fill of smoothies and sun, we decided it was time to return to Seapoint.
The ride back was just as lovely. As we cycled around the bend of Maidens cove, the sun, as red as lava, dipped below the horizon. We watched until the sky turned to a rosey lavender. The view was breath taking!
It was truely a beautiful day in Cape Town, one that will be cherished and caught in time to look back upon in a distant future.
